Rootin' Tootin' Remake 1.01

This game is a freeware remake of Rootin' Tootin' (C64 Version).
It requires Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP and DirectX 8. A sound card is optional.
You start this at your own risk. I take no responsibilities whatsoever if something happens to your PC.

This game is an entry for the http://www.remakes.org Remake Competition 2004.

This is the slightly updated version. Default sound volume is not zero and the splash screen can be
bypassed by pressing Escape.

The Gameplay:
-------------
Clean the playfield from all the notes that are strewn around. You toot the notes in the direction you're
facing. Different enemies are out to get you. Hitting them with a note kills them.
You might also keep an eye open for one of two extras: The music wand will freeze almost all enemies and you
can simply kill them by merely touching them. The extra life will award the finder with an extra life (duh).
The remake features all 16 levels of the C64 version, which will repeat after advancing further.

Added to the remake are Hot Seat and Multiplayer (TCP/IP) abilities. Those are not thouroughly tested and
might have some flaws and also jerky movement.

Compete in multi player modes like DeathMatch, Coop and Last Horn Tooting.

The Editor:
-----------
The editor has two modes, Tile Mode and Content Mode.

In Tile Mode you can change the basic layout of the level. Leftclick sets the current tile, rightclick
picks the tile under the cursor as the current tile. + and - will toggle through available tiles. Tile
connections horizontally and vertically will be applied automatically.

In Content Mode you can set notes and the player starts. Leftclick will toggle notes on or off, and rightclick
will switch from empty to player 1 start up to player 4 start.

Prev and Next will switch to the previous or next level WITHOUT saving. So always save your changes.

The "Set" button will toggle the edited set between single player levels and multi player levels.
