Silent Hunter
=============

This game is an entry for the 48 Hour Game Development Competition April 2005 at Ludum Dare (http://www.ludumdare.com).
It requires Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP and DirectX 8. A sound card is highly recommended for high class
white noise sound effects.
You start this at your own risk. I take no responsibilities whatsoever if something happens to your PC.

The Gameplay:
-------------

Your name is not of importance. Your mission is simple:
Top secret data has been separated and hidden in several countries. Break into the buildings and retrieve the secret data. The data is usually kept in a green cabinet.
You must not be detected. Go inside unseen and find the cabinet. Once a guard sees something
suspicious like a light which doesn't belong or hears a sound he will start the alarm.
Once the alarm is on you cannot escape. We will have to deny any knowledge.

Use the cursor keys to move, L to switch your flashlight on and off and SPACE to open doors with keycards. You will need to find keycards inside the buildings yourself.

Good luck! You'll need it.

All the levels (10) included should be solveable. I confess, i was only able to solve 8, two i couldn't do myself, as i ran out of testing time.

The Editor:
-----------

The in built editor is pretty comfortable. All the keys are explained on screen. To have a playable level you have to put ONE player (the green man) and a file cabinet (also green). Extra feature: You don't have to put the walls yourself, press A and the editor will calculate the right wall pieces for you.

The Sourcecode:
---------------
The full sourcecode plus a VS 2003 solution is included, so you can basically change the game as much as you want to. If you do so then A) keep mentioning where you found the sourcecode and include a link to my homepage and B) notify me if you intend to release a modified version.

The code itself isn't very clean and includes some ugly hacks, but that's the sake of time schedules.
